Porcelain veneers and crowns require two separate appointments at an interval of two weeks. During the first appointment, teeth are prepared by conservatively reducing the enamel in front or around the tooth and then making a mold of this preparation. A temporary crown or veneer is then applied over the preparation while the restoration is fabricated at a professional dental laboratory. The final appointment is used for permanently bonding the veneer or crown to the prepared tooth and making any minor adjustments needed for a perfect look and fit.
